@AXEFITNESS.BC

  • Erin Gibbs

    Owner - @erin.j.gibbs

Erin grew up in Victoria. She graduated from the University of Victoria, and then moved out to Alberta to work in healthcare.

Erin and Cory met at a Fit Body Boot Camp where Cory was an instructor and Erin was a client, and this is where their whole journey began!

After 8.5 (cold!) years in Alberta, Erin and Cory moved out to Coquitlam with the sole purpose of opening up the gym.

Erin has a passion for health and nutrition, and believes that figuring out your nutrition is the key to it all.

Erin loves hiking with Cory, and she has an extreme pickle addiction!

  • Cory Harbidge

    Owner - @axefitness.bc

Cory grew up in Alberta in a very active family with three younger brothers. All 4 boys played a variety of sports and were taught from a young age what proper nutrition and health looks like, and he is forever grateful for that.

Cory went to the University of Lethbridge, in southern Alberta, where he received his degree in Kinesiology. After finishing university, Cory started working as a trainer at the Fit Body Boot Camp in Cochrane, Alberta, and this is where he met Erin.

Together they decided to open their own gym, and in 2018 Cory and Erin moved out to BC to open Coquitlam Fit Body Boot Camp, now Axe Fitness.

Cory has always had a passion for health and fitness and has experienced the benefits of what living a healthy lifestyle can look and feel like, and would like for everyone else to experience the same benefits in their life.

  • Jennifer Wendell

    Coach - @gym_jennie

Jen has been into fitness for as long as she can remember; from being on the all-star track team, to playing soccer and volleyball, Jen loves living an active and healthy lifestyle. Her passion for strength training started back in high school where she opted to take weightlifting class over basic gym class because she loved the challenge of lifting heavy things.

Jen also lived in Mexico for two years where her job was to entertain the resort guests and instruct fitness classes. Jen loved the challenge of trying to make people exercise during their holidays!

She loves helping people become healthier versions of themselves. Jen is a huge nerd who loves learning about the body’s mechanics and nutrition.

  • Kristen Ryan

    Coach - @krecksi

Kristen has a background in Kinesiology where she worked in a rehabilitation clinic for 8 years.

Outside of her passion for group fitness, Kristen is a competitive curler who has represented BC at a national level, and she still plays competitively to this day.

Kristen has one of the most contagious laughs out there, and we guarantee that she will make you laugh!

  • Geoff Tam

    Coach - @geofftam

Geoff grew up in Coquitlam and found a love for sports at a young age. He has played badminton for over 10 years and has been instructing recreational badminton programs for the past 3 years. Geoff has ventured into other sports including street hockey as well as track and field.

Geoff is currently studying at UBC to achieve a Bachelor of Kinesiology. He geeks out on human anatomy and hopes to pursue the field of physical rehabilitation. Geoff is enthusiastic about fostering a healthy and hardworking community through a shared enjoyment of exercise.

Beyond health and fitness, Geoff is obsessed with collecting vinyl records and enjoys watching Formula 1 racing on the weekends. He will also put ketchup on (almost…) anything!

  • Dani Kiselbach

    Coach - @daniellekiselbach

Dani has been a member of the gym since 2020. Her love for strength training was discovered in high school when her mom took her to the gym and showed her the ropes, and over the years they have loved participating in group fitness classes together.

Dani recently graduated with her Therapeutic Recreation diploma and is eager to combine her education and love of fitness to help others achieve their health and wellness goals.

If Dani isn’t at the gym, you will likely find her behind a book or visiting with family and friends.

  • Presley Moyer

    Coach - @presleymfitness

Presley was introduced to fitness at a young age when he joined both baseball and hockey. Finding his passion there, he grew his love for fitness by joining the triathlon community and getting his personal training certification.

After a freak accident that snapped his femur in half, Presley has dedicated himself to always pushing himself to the max every day because he believes that you may not get that opportunity to push as hard tomorrow.

If Presley isn’t out training, you can find him under a pile of comic books or playing the guitar.

  • Josh Vairo

    Coach - @jvairo.fitness

Josh began playing sports at a young age, competing in soccer, baseball, hockey, basketball — if it existed, he played it. He shifted his focus to weightlifting when he went through a major transformation at the age of 16, losing 40 pounds in one year. That discipline sparked something bigger in him.

Josh has since discovered a passion for running and has been hooked ever since, constantly pushing his limits and enjoying every part of the process, from training to recovery. When he’s not training, you’ll find him refueling, stretching, or preparing for the next challenge.

  • Kari Wong

    Graphic Designer - @karimlwong

Kari enjoys all the simple things the world has to offer: food, friends, sunsets, and being active.

By day, Kari is a document controller at an engineering company, by night you can find her either Irish dancing or graphic designing, which are her two true passions. She studied Interactive Arts and technology at SFU, and has a certificate in graphic design from OCADU. Currently Kari is back in school to achieve a diploma in Sports Science.

Kari loves being part of the Axe Fitness team because it has helped her reach her potential and grow as a graphic designer, and she gets to help build the Axe Fitness community into something even greater. Kari strongly believes that the world needs more kindness, people who want to see each other win, and who are there to help each other up when they fall.
